Who we are
Cactive Pty Ltd (ABN 61 667 172 394) provides the Cactive apps and services. This notice tells you, when you create an account or start using an app, what we collect and why. Our Privacy Policy has the detail. Contact our privacy officer at legal@cactive.com.au.
What we collect and why
- your name, email address and date of birth: to create your account, sign you in and apply age rules
- where and how you sign in (IP address, approximate location, browser and device): to protect your account and show you where you’re signed in
- what you store, send and share in the apps: to provide them
- Health data, only with your consent: to show it to you and share it where you choose
- your location, only while you use Maps, Weather or Home’s widgets: to show the map, weather and aircraft near you
- phone numbers you add: for sign-in codes and texts
- billing details (card details go to Stripe, not us): to bill you
- feedback and support requests: to answer you and fix problems
Where it comes from
Mostly from you and your devices, with your permission. Also from your organisation if it manages your account, people who email or share with you, and services you connect.
If you don’t provide it
- Without a name, email address and date of birth, we can’t create your account.
- Without your date of birth, or an age check when we ask for one, Mirage’s social features stay closed.
- Without a permission on your phone, the feature that needs it won’t work.
- Without payment details, you can’t subscribe to a paid plan.
Who we disclose it to
- people you choose to share with, message or invite
- your organisation’s administrators, if it manages your account
- our service providers, mainly Amazon Web Services (hosting, email, texts, calls and AI), Stripe (payments) and Expo, Apple and Google (notifications); the policy lists them all
- others where the law requires or allows it
Overseas
We store your information in Australia, and while our move to Sydney finishes, also in the United States: a full copy of our databases, our backups, email and some AI and calls. Face age checks run in the United States, and some service providers handle information in the United States and other countries.
Caity and AI
Caity and our AI features run on Amazon Bedrock, using only what you ask and the apps you allow. We don’t use your content to train AI models.
Your choices and rights
You can see, correct, export and delete much of your information in the apps, and ask us for a copy, a correction or to close your account. You can complain to us, and then to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
The Privacy Policy explains how, and everything else: cookies, how long we keep information, how we protect it, children and young people, and marketing.
