Build an image in layers
Pixel, type, shape and adjustment layers in groups, each with a blend mode, opacity, fill and locks. Masks hide what you don't want without erasing it.
Five kinds of layer
Pixel layers to paint and filter, type and shape layers that stay editable, adjustment layers and groups. Drag to reorder, and merge or flatten when you're done.
Blend modes
All 27 blend modes, with opacity and fill, on every layer. A group passes its layers' modes through to what's below, or blends as one.
Layer masks and clipping masks
Paint a mask in black to hide and white to show, or make one from a selection. A clipping mask shows a layer only where the layer below has pixels.
Layer styles
A drop shadow, a stroke and an outer glow that follow the layer as it changes.
