Recipes that scale, convert and add up
Food reads each ingredient line as you type it, so it can scale the servings, convert the measures and work out nutrition, diets and allergens.
Ingredients it understands
Type "2 x 400 g cans diced tomatoes" and Food knows the quantity, the unit, the ingredient and the note. "For the sauce:" starts a section.
Servings and measures
Every quantity follows the servings, in kitchen fractions or rounded grams. Show a recipe as written, in metric or in US measures, oven temperatures too. Australian and US cups and spoons are told apart.
Nutrition per serving
Estimated from the ingredients with USDA FoodData Central and laid out like an Australian nutrition panel, kilojoules first. The panel says how much of the recipe it could weigh.
Diets, allergens and swaps
Food works out which diets a recipe meets and which allergens it contains, named as on Australian labels. Common substitutes, such as for buttermilk or eggs, show beside the line.
