Shared drives belong to the organisation and are run by their members. Managers add people or whole teams as viewers, commenters, editors or managers.
What each role can do
Viewers open, preview and download. Commenters also comment; editors also upload, rename, move, share and move to the trash; managers also delete forever.
Hand files over
Give a file in your My Drive to another member with Transfer ownership. It moves to the top of their My Drive, and you keep editor access.
