Bring tables, pictures and links onto the page
Tables that break cleanly across pages, pictures you crop and describe, smart chips for people, files and dates, and contents that keep up.
Tables
Pick a size, then add rows and columns, merge cells, and set a cell's background, borders and vertical alignment. Drag a column's edge to its width, and turn the header row on or off.
Pictures
Upload a picture, take one from Drive, or paste or drop it on the page. Resize it from a corner, crop it, and write its alt text for people who can't see it.
Smart chips and links
Type @ for people in your organisation, files and dates, and the chip opens what it names. Link any text to a web page or a file.
Contents and outline
A table of contents lists the headings as links and keeps itself up to date. Show the outline beside the page, and select a heading to go there.
From your other apps
Pictures from Drive
Take a picture from Drive or upload one. Either way it's kept with the document, and counts against its space's storage.
Edit in Studio
Open a picture in the image editor. One that's only in the document is saved to Drive beside it first.
Charts from Sheets
Add a spreadsheet's chart to the page, with its figures as they are now.
Links to files
Link text to a file as easily as to a web page, and open, copy, edit or remove the link.
